New ‘true’ online garden centre launches
A NEW ‘true’ virtual garden centre featuring all the usual products and plants an ordinary store and nursery stocks as well as some more unusual ones is officially launching this month (April 1, 2014).
www.potterandrest.co.uk includes plants and products as well as a personal shopper service for gardeners who need help with particular areas of their patches, patios, greenhouses or plots.
The aim is to be the largest ‘true’ garden centre online with free expert advice available to gardeners via telephone and social media backed by a five-year plant guarantee.
There is also a ‘no quibble’ guarantee on all products and if customers are not happy they will simply get their money back.
There is an emphasis on British grown plants and products wherever possible.
www.potterandrest.co.uk is a collaborative project between The Gardens Group, which has award-winning garden centres in Dorset and Somerset and Peter Burks, the recent former Garden Centre Association Chairman.
The logistics will be handled at the garden centres as per the products/plants being shipped and a dedicated distribution centre will be created in Yeovil, Somerset too.
The basis for the site’s customer service is not just to sell and deliver something in a reliable fashion but unlike other ‘garden centres’ online to offer expert advice so it’s much more than a virtual shopping experience.
Customers can email in photographs of pests and diseases and get a free diagnosis and advice on how to solve the problem, and they will also be able to get assistance on the best plants or products to use in their gardens.
There will be some products and plant collections not currently available in other garden centres in the real or virtual world.
www.potterandrest.co.uk includes sections for wild care, pet care, Sow Your Own, Grow Your Own, outdoor plants, houseplants, plant care, equipment and tools, outdoor living and gifts.
The e-garden centre hopes to appeal to all levels of gardeners from complete novices to keen amateurs and on to expert gardeners.
