Children’s Sunflower Competition Terms and Conditions
The closing date of the competition is midnight UK time on September 30, 2016. Entries submitted after this time will not be considered.
Entries are only eligible from children aged 16 years or under, residing in the UK. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of Potter & Rest (Promoter) or Barnados (Promoter) and anyone connected to the competition are not eligible to enter.
Rules to participate
All entries must be submitted to www.potterandrest.co.uk via email (email@example.com) with the entry form and a photo of the sunflower attached to the email.
The sunflower should be measured in centimeters by the entrant’s parent/guardian across the centre of the ‘face’ excluding petals.
In the photo the ruler or tape measure used must be visible and legible. It should be positioned across the centre of the sunflower’s ‘face’ so the size can be verified.
Entries submitted after the closing date will not be counted.
The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
There are two titles to be won in the competition – Regional Winner and National Winner.
There are five regions and the regional winners will each receive a £10 Potter & Rest voucher and a certificate.
The National Winner will receive a certificate and a £50 Potter & Rest voucher. The overall winner’s school will also be presented with a £50 Potter & Rest voucher.
There are no alternatives to the prizes. They are as stated and are non-transferable.
The regional winners will be determined and notified by Friday, October 14, 2016.
The regional winners will be judged against one another to determine the national winner on Friday, October 14, 2016.
The National Winner will be the entrant whose sunflower ‘face’ was recorded as the largest. They will be notified on Monday, October 17, 2016.
In the event of a tie at any stage of the competition, all entrants with the same measurement will be included in a draw made by an independent adjudicator and the winner will be deemed as the first entry drawn.
If the winner of the prize cannot be traced after 28 days by Potter & Rest and Barnados, they will be entitled to select an alternative winner from among the entrants.
Any entry, which does not comply with the rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of Potter & Rest and Barnados.
