A hellebore for every home
Every garden should have a hellebore or two and you can find one that is suitable for almost any situation.
For dry shady spots go for Helleborus x nigercors, which is a vigorous and resilient hellebrore.
For shady containers try Helleborus x ericsmithii ‘Winter Moonbeam’, which has pretty marbled leaves and white flowers that turn to red as they mature, and have pink stems too. Also ‘Anna’s Red’ is worth trying too.
For clay soil Helleborus x hybridus is the star and for well-drained soil Helleborus x ballardiae is the one to go for.
Helleborus odorus, a scented, green-flowered species, is happy in a sunny position as long as the soil is fertile and moisture retentive.
Don’t forget if we don’t have the variety you’re looking for here, as part of our ‘You seek, we find’ service we will get in touch with our industry contacts and scour the nation’s nurseries to find the one you would like.
