Our top five Narcissus

If you want to see some bright and cheerful colour in your garden next spring then you should definitely be planting some narcissus bulbs.

Narcissus is the Latin or botanical name for all daffodils. Daffodil is the common name for all members of the genus narcissus. Whether a narcissus or a daffodil, they all look fab nodding their heads in the (hopefully) calm spring breezes.

Species Narcissus ‘Topolino’



This narcissus is a fragrant miniature and flowers in March/April.

Species Narcissus ‘Rip Van Winkle’



This narcissus is short stemmed and its flowers, which appear in March/April, are almost dahlia-esque.

Species Narcissus ‘Jack Snipe’



This narcissus has a short stem and flowers in March/April. It reaches an eventual height of 25cm and has an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Narcissus ‘Spring Dawn’



This British-grown narcissus has very early fragrant flowers that bloom in January.

Species Narcissus ‘Little Gem’



This narcissus is short stemmed and flowers in March/April. It reaches an eventual height of 20cm and has an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
