A true virtual garden centre

A few more little jobs for September

Posted on September 25, 2014 by Potter & Rest
Things to do in the garden this weekend if you haven’t already tackled them:

1. Continue to deadhead and feed your summer bedding plants.

2. Plant onion and shallot sets for overwintering.

3. Continue to harvest apples and pears.

4. Leave marrows, pumpkins and squashes to ripen on the plant. Place the fruit on a wooden board or a tile to prevent soiling and harvest before the frosts.

5. Harvest maincrop potatoes and store them in hessian or a paper bag in a dark, frost-free place.
