This week's must-have plant...
Daphne odora Rebecca
Peter says: “This is a new variety from the very popular Daphne family. Everyone knows them for their amazing, sweet scented flowers in early spring, which Rebecca has in abundance.“
Dark pink buds open to light pink flowers with a beautiful strong sweet fragrance. But its foliage is what makes it stand out from other Daphne’s. Being evergreen with a strong, bright, golden variegation, it is sure to brighten up any garden all year round.
“It will grow to approximately 3 feet tall (90cms) with a similar spread. It is ideal for growing in a pot or other container, or in the ground and prefers a lightly shaded spot where its foliage will really lift a dull area. If in full sun, it will be happy as long as it doesn’t dry out. And what’s more it is very attractive to bees. I’ve got to find room for one of these in my garden!”
They come in a 2 litre pot, 6 inch diameter and are priced at £29.99 each. P&P is additional.
